GETTING AROUND

Venezia Unica pass

This pass can be customized. Its many options include airport transfers. We chose the three-day travel pass with the San Marco city pass, which included entrance to the Doge’s Palace, the Correr Museum, the Archaeological Museum and the Monumental Rooms of the Biblioteca Marciana — all in St. Mark’s Square.d an excellent cafe.

It also gave us access to three Chorus churches of our choice (we visited the Church of the Santissimo Redentore, the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracle and the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari) and entrance to the Quern Stampalia Foundation. Besides housing an impressive example of 18th-century rooms with beautiful furniture, paintings, ceramics and sculptures, the foundation has a library, an area for temporary exhibitions and an excellent cafe.

WHERE TO EAT

Falciani Restaurant

Take a seat and soak in a lovely view of St. Mark's Basilica and St. Mark's Square. The food is just as good as the view, and the staff is friendly and accomodating.
